From Morlaix to the Big Stage: Early Career
Destable grew up in Morlaix in the 1990s, and finding bandmates felt nearly impossible there. He bought a sampler and a synth instead of waiting around. That do-it-yourself start shaped his sound and his work ethic for life. He learned to build full tracks alone, which later made him a sought-after producer.
In 2000 he joined Abstrackt Keal Agram, an electronic group with hip-hop and rock roots. The band released records like Substracks #1 and toured the French underground scene. When he left in 2006, he joined Yelle, the bright electropop act that later played Coachella multiple times. His run with Yelle lasted until 2014.
Solo Albums and the Rio 2016 Olympics Spotlight
In 2015 the Tanguy Destable solo story truly began with his debut album Hypnotease. He followed it with the Inquisifunk EP in 2017, a record he described as dance music with strong harmonies. He called his style too mainstream for the indie scene and too indie for the mainstream. Fans loved that in-between space right away.
His biggest early spotlight came at the Tepr Rio Olympics performance in 2016, which lifted his profile far beyond France. After that he released Technosensible, Dance Works 2015–2018, and the film soundtrack La nuit se traîne in 2024. Each record added royalties and touring income to the growing Tepr net worth total.
How Tanguy Destable Makes His Money

Music royalties from his albums, EPs, and band years pay him year after year. Production fees from working with artists like Woodkid and Mylène Farmer add solid project income.
The bigger paydays come from sync and licensing deals. He composes music for films, TV series, video games, and fashion shows. Since 2018 he has created runway soundtracks for Louis Vuitton, a luxury client that pays premium fees. Add streaming revenue, DJ sets, and remixes for artists like Martin Solveig. That gives you a diverse, durable income mix.

Then came 2025 and everything changed. French magazine Voici reported that Tanguy Destable was dating Natalie Portman, and photos of the couple walking in Paris soon followed.
